Rachel’s Breast Cancer Patient Journey

When Rachel was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2002, she had no idea just how long of a journey lay ahead.  After an initial series of surgeries and chemotherapy treatments, she was given the “all clear” at the age of 31.  But 12 years later, her tranquility was unexpectedly shaken when her cancer returned with a vengeance. Rachel soon found herself in the midst of a relentless health challenge that tested both her resilience and spirit.

 

From Exhausted & Hopeless…

Since her cancer’s resurgence in 2014, Rachel has undergone numerous chemotherapy treatments, radiation sessions, and surgeries, facing each obstacle with courage and fortitude. Yet in early 2023, a breaking point came when Rachel suffered a spontaneous fracture due to a tumor that had entirely filled her arm, prompting yet another major surgery. Coupled with years’ worth of taxing treatments that have left Rachel feeling chronically ill and a lack of hope from her conventional team, Rachel’s mental and physical health took a rapid downturn, leaving her and her family in fear for her life. 

“I just couldn’t do it anymore,” Rachel reflects. “I mould not take even one more treatment knowing it would continue to leave me feeling sick and hopeless.”
