Betsy’s Renal Cell Carcinoma Patient Journey

Follow Betsy’s renal cell carcinoma journey below.

After an intense surgery to remove her left kidney and a large accompanying tumor in February of 2019, Betsy was still given the devastating diagnosis of stage 4 renal cell carcinoma — a disease that is notoriously resistant to traditional cancer treatments. Learn how Betsy defied the expectations of her oncologists back home with alternative healing at Hope4Cancer.

From No Hope and No Options…

By the time Betsy had her left kidney (and its accompanying tumor) removed via surgery in February 2019, her cancer had unfortunately already spread to both her lymph nodes and lungs, leaving Betsy with a stage 4 renal cell carcinoma diagnosis and nothing but grim expectations from her oncologist. Knowing quality of life was a high priority for her, Betsy found her doctor’s one and only recommendation for treatment — an immunotherapy program so intense that 40% of recipients were forced to go on long-term, high-dose steroids to deal with the side effects — completely lacking in hope for the future.

“I was pretty much told I had no chance and almost no options; even chemotherapy and radiation wouldn’t work on my type of cancer. And I felt if I got on this hamster wheel of drugs, and more drugs, and more drugs… I would probably never be able to get off.”

…To Restored & Recovering

While taking some time to explore her options, Betsy luckily learned about Hope4Cancer Treatment Centers through a friend of her daughter. After seeing a powerful testimony from one of our patients who also survived renal cell carcinoma, Betsy knew she’d found the healing program that resonated with her, and packed her bags for Hope4Cancer Cancun. Now more than 2 1/2 years after being told she was terminal with virtually no options, Betsy reflects on her Hope4Cancer journey and all it has given her.

“I finally decided, who the heck was anyone to tell me I was going to die? After just 3 weeks at Hope4Cancer, I went back home and my new oncologist was in disbelief. Thank goodness for life.”

Watch Betsy’s full testimony in the video below to learn how she’s doing now, and why she continues to visit our Cancun treatment center years after her original treatment.
