Having received comprehensive training as an academic researcher in the biological sciences, Nikhil Chakravarty joined the Hope4Cancer Treatment Centers team in 2019 as a member of the Research & Development team. Nikhil received his B.S. degree in Microbiology and Immunology in 2021 from the University of California, Irvine (California, USA). The COVID-19 pandemic inspired Nikhil to pursue a Master’s in Public Health degree in Epidemiology, which he will be starting in Fall 2021.

Nikhil has been involved in academic research for over six years and has worked with accomplished scientists at various top-tier research centers and universities in California. Over the course of his research career, he has conducted research into potential therapies for rare genetic diseases and aortic aneurysms and has also been directly involved in research regarding Zika virus and SARS-CoV-2, the causative viruses for two recent major epidemics. Nikhil published his first peer-reviewed paper at 18 and has also written about the neurological symptoms of and potential therapeutics against COVID-19, as well as potential gene therapies to treat Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy.

As a member of the R&D team at Hope4Cancer, Nikhil has been pivotal in generating and configuring the questionnaires used in the recently implemented SPROUT program, using his research experience to develop questionnaires that help inform clinical decision-making and provide patients with comprehensive and understandable information.
