Living Vitality: Harnessing the Cancer Healing Power of Oxygen

For something so vital to living, it’s surprising how rarely oxygen crosses our minds. The average person, at rest, takes about 16 breaths per minute. This adds up to about 960 breaths an hour, 23,040 breaths a day, 8,409,600 a year . . . and even more if you exercise regularly. Oxygen is one of the few health factors we literally cannot live without — and at Hope4Cancer, we know the impact oxygenation can have on healing cancer.

Oxygen: Simple Yet Powerful

Oxygen can be defined as a chemical found in air that has no color, taste or smell, but is necessary for life. Healthy cells thrive in oxygen-rich environments. Optimal oxygen levels keep bacteria, viruses and cancer cells in check, as well as prevent toxic buildup. Oxygen has a multitude of life-giving benefits in the body, from immune system stimulation to vein and artery purification.

However, when the body is deprived of oxygen, disease can occur. Signs of oxygen deprivation include fatigue, weakness, low hemoglobin counts, clumped red blood cells, anemia and, of course, the growth of cancer cells. Normal cells need oxygen for respiration, while cancer cells metabolize through the process of fermentation — an anaerobic process or one that requires very small amounts of oxygen.

Cancer cells are not like any other cells in the human body. The way they metabolize and create energy for living and multiplication is unique and dangerous. Normal cells love oxygen which gives cancer cells a competitive advantage in its absence. This inferior form of energy production is activated when the oxygen level of a cell drops, leading to an acidic environment that encourages the growth of cancer cells, feeding the creation of a tumor micro-environment. Therefore, increasing oxygen levels at the cellular level is key to reversing the anaerobic process, which heals the body while progressively restoring it to an optimal environment.

Modern Oxygen Therapy

A pioneer in modern oxygen therapy was Dr. Otto Warburg. This German doctor was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1931 for his research proving that cancer cells use a form of non-oxygen metabolism to survive. His discoveries opened up the fields of cellular metabolism and cellular respiration. Dr. Warburg’s contributions displayed how cancerous cells can live and develop, even in the absence of oxygen.

Through our research and experience with patients, we at Hope4Cancer have seen the substantial benefits of delivering oxygen (O2) in high concentrations under pressure, along with ozone (O3) using methods such as rectal insufflation and cold plasma topical delivery.

The Journey to Healing

Increasing oxygen in the body can be as simple as deep, slow breathing several times a day. In many cultures, deep breathing is incorporated into a meditation or prayer practice, and for good reason. Exercise is also a good way to increase oxygen in your body. Many Hope4Cancer patients tell us their mental state improves when they take the time to exercise and breathe deeply.

In our research and clinical experience, we have seen how increasing oxygen levels can be a critical factor in healing. At Hope4Cancer, we employ a variety of therapies to help increase our patients’ oxygen levels. During their time at Hope4Cancer, our patients increase their oxygen levels therapeutically with our hyperbaric oxygen chambers, through rectal insufflation and topically with cold plasma ozone therapy.

Oxygen therapy, in all its methods, is a safe and effective modality to support healing from  cancer — thereby assisting the immune system in carrying out its restoration efforts towards a complete healing solution. When utilized alongside treatments to address the cause of the cancer and a complete detoxification program, even patients with advanced cancers can heal without side effects. At Hope4Cancer, we are here for you or your loved one. Contact us to learn how using treatments like oxygen therapy can help you on the journey to recovery.

  1. Hello,
I have a friend who has been diagnosed with breast cancer, apparently already spread. She has gone through surgery, chemo and is soon to go through radiation. I have seen many of my family members die from cancer treatment so I hold little hope for the long run. I have told her about alternative treatments but I fear she has had the “If you don’t do this, you will die” treatment from her doctors and she is reluctant to step outside the box they have drawn. She is my Sons Mother in law and I don’t want to see him and his wife to through this. I am not sure what to do next, do you have any suggestions?

    1. Dear George,
I personally relate to your situation, having had many family members and friends who blindly choose to follow conventional programs without making an educated decision. The best you can do is to gently open the door, knowing that the end decision is truly theirs to make. If you would like, you can ask them to schedule a no-obligation conversation with one of our counselors, understand what we have to offer, and make an informed decision from there. There is nothing to lose, and everything to gain. You can schedule a call by clicking this link.

  2. I had colon c in May, had hystorectomy, said i was ned, but had bc in 2010, and it came bck this summer also, so had masectomy in oct. For a month now. My numbers have all dropped big time, but my thing is, if im ned, how is there something to kill.

    1. Hi Debra,
It would make more sense at this stage to embrace a holistic treatment program to get to the root causes of the cancer. May I suggest you speak with one of our patient counselors? I have forwarded your email address to them, but in case you haven’t heard from them, please feel free to schedule a free consultation call by clicking the following link:
