Janine’s Journey: A Seven-Year Update

“I came here with cancer, but I left with a completely new way of living.”

Janine was first diagnosed with invasive lobular breast cancer in 2017. After exploring integrative therapies for several years, she came to Hope4Cancer in Cancun in July 2019 for a three-week treatment program.

At the end of her stay, follow-up imaging showed no signs of the primary tumor, and she was declared NED (No Evidence of Disease) after just 21 days of treatment. Seven years later, Janine continues to return for routine follow-ups, and all recent imaging and medical evaluations continue to show no evidence of tumor activity.

Beyond eliminating the tumor, Janine says her experience at Hope4Cancer changed how she approaches health entirely.

Janine’s Journey As A Hope4cancer Patient

Addressing the Root Causes

One of the most important aspects of Janine’s healing journey was exploring deeper factors that may have contributed to her illness.

During her time at Hope4Cancer, Janine worked through emotional and lifestyle challenges that had accumulated over many years. Her physicians helped her identify several areas that required attention, including:

  • Long-term emotional stress related to family challenges and caregiving responsibilities
  • Past traumatic life events and unresolved emotional conflict
  • Lifestyle habits, including diet and sugar consumption
  • Gut health and metabolic balance

Through Hope4Cancer’s Behavioral Emotional Spiritual Transformation (BEST) program, Janine began addressing these underlying patterns. She worked to rebuild relationships with family members, set healthier boundaries, and make lasting lifestyle changes that supported both physical and emotional healing.

A Long-Term Commitment to Health

Since completing treatment in 2019, Janine has remained diligent about monitoring her health and maintaining the lifestyle changes she learned during her time at Hope4Cancer.

Her follow-up evaluations over the years have consistently shown no evidence of tumor activity on imaging studies, along with stable tumor markers and normal lab results. Recent bilateral breast ultrasounds continue to confirm no nodules, masses, or architectural abnormalities, and Janine reports feeling well with good energy and appetite.

For Janine, returning for follow-ups is an important part of her long-term health plan.

“I always tell people that healing is a journey. You have to keep taking care of your body and paying attention to what it needs.”
