Chris’s Rectal Cancer Patient Journey

When Hope4Cancer patient Chris’ rectal cancer diagnosis progressed from bad to worse, his conventional doctors gave him approximately two years to live and only a short extension with chemotherapy. Thankfully, Chris made his way to Hope4Cancer Treatment Centers in Cancun and discovered a new world of healing possibilities.

 

From “No Other Options”…

In April 2021, when Chris received the startling news of a rectal cancer diagnosis, he initially put his faith in his doctors’ recommendations and moved forward with surgery. Unfortunately, just a few months after the procedure, his stage 1 diagnosis progressed to stage 2. This time, his doctors recommended radiation and chemotherapy. Wary of the effects these treatments would have on his body, Chris was hesitant at first, but eventually yielded, as his doctors pressed there were no other viable options. But after 26 sessions of radiation and 6 rounds of taxing chemotherapy, in late 2022, a CT scan revealed that the cancer still persisted, metastasizing to Chris’s lungs and multiple lymph nodules.

“I was devastated… the doctors told me I had about two years to live and they could maybe extend that for another year if I did more chemo, but I was down 30 pounds and still feeling the side effects from the last round. I asked if there was something, anything else — and they said no.”

Lacking support from his conventional medical team, Chris began to research alternative options and soon discovered integrative medicine.
