Ozone Therapy

An Oxygen and Anti-Microbial Therapy

Ozone Therapy

According to Nobel Prize winner, Dr. Otto Warburg, “The prime cause of cancer is the replacement of the respiration of oxygen (oxidation of sugar) in normal body cells by fermentation of sugar.” Our healthy cells use oxygen to breakdown our prime energy source (sugars) into chemical energy (ATP) that is used throughout the body to fuel its function. Cancer cells use glycolysis – part of the fermentation process – to breakdown sugars and create lactic acid. This process thrives in a low oxygen (or hypoxic) state and creates acidic, pathogen-ridden conditions that make it impossible for healthy cells to survive. Ozone therapy seeks to reverse hypoxic conditions in the body, supporting healthy body environments that disfavor tumor growth.

Compared to the air we breathe (O2), ozone (O3) is another form of oxygen with one extra molecule. Introducing it to low-oxygen cellular environments stimulates the DPG enzyme, which in turn releases oxygen to be used by the cell. Ozone therapy can be delivered in many different ways. At Hope4Cancer, we prefer to use rectal or vaginal insufflation as the primary method for delivering ozone to the blood stream. Cold plasma ozone therapy is also used to deliver high concentrations of ozone directly to the skin area above a tumor.
