Lemons and Cancer: Is Lemon a Cancer Cure?

With an increase in reporting by major media outlets discussing the many health benefits of various fruits and vegetables and how they play a part in fighting disease, you may have already heard that lemons cure cancer. While this isn’t completely factual, there have been several studies that purport to show a strong basis in using lemons for cancer treatment. It should also be noted that there are conflicting reports detailing that, while lemons and other citrus fruits do contain cancer-fighting properties, exactly how effective they are against particular types of cancer has yet to be accurately determined. While the connection between lemons and cancer is yet to be established, it is quite clear that lemons have some clear benefits that are best not ignored.

Health Benefits of Lemons for Cancer

What are the health benefits of lemon when it relates to cancer? In addition to the Vitamin C found in lemon juice, which is already a very well known alternative cancer treatment in its own right, the peel of the lemon also offers many health benefits, one of the most important being that lemon peel can help to eradicate toxins in your body. This may be why lemons for cancer are being studied and touted as a great remedy.

The connection between cancer and lemons isn’t something new; for decades, scientists have wondered, “Is lemon a cancer killer?” and have developed numerous studies to determine its validity.

Studies have revealed that lemon extract can successfully destroy malignant cells in a wide range of cancers, including breast cancer, colon cancer, and lung cancer (see references below). Several research studies also make the claim that lemons can destroy cancer much more effectively than chemotherapy, and in a safer and healthier manner. Additionally, the studies also show that lemon extract therapy only affects malignant cells, leaving healthy cells unharmed.

Additional health benefits of lemon include:

  • It is antibacterial
  • It is antiviral
  • It aids in digestion
  • It can be used to treat acne
  • It helps to regulate blood pressure
  • It fights against parasites and worms
  • It possesses antidepressant qualities
  • It helps to reduce stress and anxiety

Please be cautious of claims perpetuating through the internet of lemons being “10,000 times better than chemotherapy”.  If that is true, it is probably not because of the effectiveness of the lemons, but because of the ineffectiveness of chemotherapy!  Seriously though, this author could not find any authoritative scientific work that established that as a fact.  The statement is unscientific and unfounded. We prefer to approach it from the angle of a natural product that can form a nutritional barrier between health and disease. When you read the next few paragraphs, please keep this in mind.

Lemons for Cancer: How Much Do I Need to Consume?

So the question you may be asking yourself is, “Do lemons cure cancer and how much lemon do I need to consume on a daily basis?” Before answering this question, it must first be noted that while numerous studies have shown effectiveness in the consumption of lemons as a cancer killer, and is still undergoing a variety of testing and research to even come close to making that assertion. Until then we should think of lemons and cancer to have a nutritional relationship.

What is known is that the benefits of lemon could be realated to specific compounds found in them (and other citrus fruits such as oranges and grapefruit) known as flavonoids and limonoids. These may either stop the formation and growth of cancer cells, or have been shown in studies to kill them outright. These studies have mainly been conducted on animals and in laboratory conditions using human breast cancer cells.

In Europe, a study was conducted with participants afflicted with various forms of cancer, in which they consumed 150 grams of citrus four or more times a week. The citrus proved effective in decreasing the risks of cancer by significant percentages, with the exception of breast cancer. However, an American study did show a decrease in the risk of breast cancer in participants using the same portions of citrus—so long as they did not previously undergo hormone replacement therapy.

When consuming citrus, it is also important to not just consume the juice, but also the pulp and the peel, and even the seeds when possible. Further research shows that 75 grams of citrus on a daily basis might be the optimal minimum intake for those wishing to reduce the risks of cancer.

How to Add Lemons to Your Daily Diet

Because lemons are very versatile in a wide variety of dishes, it can be very easy to ensure that you have lemon in at least one of your meals each day. At the very least, you can add lemon juice to water and drink a glass of lemon water every day. This ensures that you get a good dose of Vitamin C. However, because the peel of the lemon actually contains a much larger amount of important vitamins than the juice, it is recommended that you find ways to incorporate the peel into your daily diet as well.

One of the easiest ways to accomplish this is to either peel a lemon and place the peel in the freezer, or simply freeze a whole lemon. Then you can grate as needed, adding it to salads, soups, fish, chicken, rice, pasta, and many other dishes. You can add it to seltzer, to smoothies and other drinks.

Addendum: Lemons and Cancer Treatment

June 1, 2015:  We wrote this article in May 2013 and since then it has been viewed by thousands of people across the world. One of the most common questions we get is whether lemons can be used as a cancer treatment, in other words are lemons a cancer treatment? This article truly describes the health benefits of lemons and the fact that they could be a good addition to an anti cancer diet.  However, if you do have cancer, please do not try to use nutritional measures as your only tool against the disease. We believe that appropriately changing nutrition is an integral part of treating cancer – however, expecting nutritional changes alone to resolve the disease is a dangerous path to take. Treatment by a professional is essential.

We are also asked, what is the “frozen lemon treatment”. There is really no such thing!  By freezing lemons and grating them whole over your usual foods while still frozen, you can really get the best from every part of the lemon, which helps maximize the benefit from that obtained by the lemon juice by itself. That suggestion should not, however, be construed to be a frozen lemon “treatment”.

We are writing a sequel to this article very soon which will have a lot more data and resources to help you understand better the impact of lemons in overall health and as part on an anti cancer diet.

    1. The purpose of freezing is really to make it easy to integrate sufficient quantities of lemons into your diet. You can consume your lemons whichever way you like. If you are consuming the peels, please make sure the lemons are organically grown. Last thing you need is adding more pesticide-related toxins into your body!

        1. I drink a glass of warm lemon water every morning. I rinse right afterwards with warm water and half a tsp of baking soda to neutralize the acid.

      1. Now i heard that pure aloe vera juice.is a cure for cancer. i know a friend diagnosed with lung cancer. by taking pure aloe vera juice, once or twice a day. consuming 4 oz. he did this for a year now. went back for a cat scan. results came back. cancer free. please reply.

        1. Hi Gary,
Pure Aloe vera is an excellent addition to any cancer treatment protocol. The number of benefits ranging from immunomodulation, detoxification, improvement gut health, in addition to its reported anticancer action. It is also known to help reduce the side effects of toxic therapies as well (of course, we do not promote those). However, while Aloe vera has many benefits, it is important to know that it should only be used in the context of a complete treatment protocol. While there are individual success stories that people attribute to Aloe vera alone, it is not justifiable to assume that the same results will be experienced by all patients across the board. The source of the Aloe vera should also be carefully examined for purity and concentration. While he should feel free to supplement with Aloe vera, lemon, or other natural therapies, I would encourage your friend to seek professional help to maximize his opportunity to heal. 2. Since I have been reading about natural ways of attacking cancer I stumbled across lemons. I have read this article and it states that the peels have more nutritional value, or higher nutritional value, then just Juice alone. Seeing that I do not mind lemonade, what I have done is chopped up a couple of lemons and put them in my Ninja food processor. I have to add a little Spring Water, I do not use tap water, and I whirl it for about a minute. I use the seeds and all. To cut down on the Tanginess of the lemons I add about a teaspoon of stevia, again, blending it to ensure that it is well mixed. Then I put it in a jar and stick it in the refrigerator. I use about a tablespoon or so per glass of cold water and ice and I have that three or four times a day. This way I can eat a lemon a day. Again, this is just another way of consuming lemons.

      1. This is a P.S. concerning my comment. I am not just taking lemons alone, I am also on a high alkaline diet, which includes 3 teaspoons of baking soda a day. I pack my baking soda in double-ought capsules ( 00 caps) , I also take 4 capsules of turmeric, one capsule of black pepper, and an ounce of high-quality oil, olive oil or some other quality oil. And I guess we’ll see what the Pet Scan has to show next year!

          1. Hi Mary, I’m sad to hear you have cancer. I came across many testimonials of people healed of cancer through a guy called Chris Wark. 2. avoid 100% suger in any form .take a full lemon juice with hot water before meals two or three times daily.you will not die because of cancer.the cancer cells will be destroyed by this juice.you take and find the difference.

        1. Correct. ,add if you use 3× daily i would clean your mouth with an anti acid wash.
We have taken this “hot” lemon drink every day for three years now and not had a cold! normally we got a cold every winter! so it seems effective . in our 70’s.

      3. Hi there Jim Ross. How’s your PET SCAN results? I hope it’s a very favorable results. I, my self a breast cancer patient. May I ask how exactly do you do with baking soda and an oil? First, 3 teaspoons a day with a glass of water? 2nd, how is your measurement for the oil as I planned to with coconut oil. Lemon, baking soda and oil, when and how do you take it? Is it half an hour before or after meal? Please advise. Thank you so much. GOD BLESS!!!

    3. I normally get as much of the juice and pulp out to drink in water..(hot water is best apparently for its efficacy.. but never boiling) then I put all the half cut remainders into water which I then do simmer from boiling point to soften the rinds even more.. I then let them sit.. and reheat after squishing them down with a potato masher to extract as much pith and pulp as possible.. it then makes a slightly different hot drink taste.. as you can then taste the peel flavour.. never put sugar with it.. always as is. very cleansing for all the body/kidneys/liver/blood.

  1. ENJOYABLE READING. I LOVE LEMONS ANYWAY, AND AS A 69 YR OLD MALE, WHO HAD AN OLIVE SIZE CANCEROUS THMOR IN BLADDER (REMOVED), SKIN CANCER, (WORKING IN SUN 90% OF LIFE, (THROW IN AGENT ORANGE, VIET NAM ’68 – ’69), A POP WHO DIED OF LUNG CANCER, A YOUNGER BROTHER WITH CANCEROUS TUMOR IN NECK, AN OLDER BROTHER, 74, , DIED 23 APRIL ’17, LUNG CANCER…..ETC, ETC….I INTENT TO EAT AN ENTIRE LEMON, PEEL AND ALL, EVERY DAY. HEY, WHAT HAVE I GOT TO LOSE, AND WHAT ARE POSITIVE POINTS. “LUV DEM LEMUNS”

    1. Just make sure your lemons Re organic! And this applies to all you eat if you can… good luck with it all.

    2. I am a Lung cancer Survivor, 4 years out. I do a whole organic lemon in my Vita mixer with a cup (or two) of spring water, with 2 T. organic olive oil. I pulverize it and it comes frothy and delicious. Very smooth. Not bitter at all. I like it best at room temp. Very pleasant and tasty.

  2. been smoking 60+years,cancer due ,so i have started eating a couple of teaspoons of the entire lemon everyday, going to keep it up the rest of the way.–thanks

        1. There is no specific information that connects lemons to CLL. You should consider lemons as a nutritional measure to rebalance the body’s terrain, and from that indirect perspective, it may help. However, to treat CLL, you must seek professional care, as I am sure you already have. Wish you well!

    1. Love your attitude. I’m fighting cancer too. Been doing kelmun and eating a lot of asparagus and drinking carrot juice. Lumps and masses have not gone away but I do feel stronger then I have been. Mother died of cancer and so did an aunt. Have had several tumors removed. Still fighting it. Have breast cancer now.

  3. Is it the ordinary limes or the medicinal variety ? The ordinary limes have the size of a table tennis ball and the medicinal variety is egg shaped.

    1. Thank you for your comment. In our understanding, there aren’t too many differences in medicinal properties of different types of lime. In fact, it is important for us to keep the recommendation as generic as possible so that people can access limes from whatever is readily available in their local supply. For anyone who is interested in learning more about the medicinal properties of lime, please visit this link (page 744 onwards) which will take you to an ebook that details the anti-cancer, anti-oxidant, anti-viral, renal protective, anti-obesity etc properties. Only excerpts of this book are available online, but there is enough valuable information in the free content. If you have additional information about medicinal limes that you would like to share, please feel free to post it here for the benefit of others.

      1. I have breast cancer. After 7 Chemotherapy, switched on to Lemon and Ayurvedic. I cut the half cut lemons by scissors into tiny bits and soak them in rock salt hot water for a few hours. I take the juice as a drink and the soaked bits sprinkled in the juice. It can be consumed like a pickle or additive to any dish u prepare. Lovely they are and am able to consume at least two a day. I also add baking soda, virgin Olive oil or virgin Coconut oil.

        1. Hi there. I have breast cancer too. May I know how much hot water and rock salt do you prepare for your lemon bits stuff? Also where do you add baking soda and coconut oil? How much of it? Please reply. Thanks and GOD BLESS!!!

  4. I have colon cancer and my mom is combating reno cell for the fourth time.i am hoping that the lemon treatment I going to help. ..thanks for the work and effort

  5. Disclaimer to protect your a##!
I believe and approve natural remedies. Lemon, lime, and the orange. Not just the peel, but the total fruit, peel must be included, which has anti-carcinogenic properties. Lifestyle choice, not just lemon than back to McDonalds! Use common sense. Your body is ill, its trying to tell you something isn’t right! You don’t need a MD to tell you that!

    1. You are so right! Cancer is caused by an overload of toxins that the body can’t deal with, to cure cancer you have to revamp your lifestyle so it can heal itself. Its a combination of many insults that cause cancer so you need many changes to heal.

  6. Hi all. Thought I would pass on our experience with The Lemon Rind theory. I will try to keep this brief.
In 2008 my father was diagnosed with prostrate cancer . He was 74 years old with otherwise no medical issues other than high blood pressure, which he neglected! Played lawn bowls and golf twice a week. Being a pensioner, and on the public system, his PSA levels had reached 26 by the time he had got into see a specialist. He was told no cure available and with any luck something else would get him first! He was offered an estrogin injection which he had. After the first injection his PSA level dropped I’m sorry to say I can not remember to which level but let’s just say we where very happy. On the next test his level had risen .2 and on the next test again it had risen .2. And again another .2. A pattern was emerging. The outlook was not looking too positive.
It was at this time I stumbled across the whole “lemon rind stronger than chemo” article. And I will point out that I took the whole ‘frozen lemon’ bit as an ease of use thing rather than a necessity for cure thing.
I told my dad and he thought he would give it a go. Couldn’t hurt and he had a great lemon tree in the back yard!
He began grating half a lemon into his porridge each morning.
On his next test we were amazed to find that not only had his PSA stopped rising but that it had reduced by a small percent, again I am sorry I can not remember the number exactly.
On each visit there after we were a bit disappointed to see his PSA levels begin to increase but not by .2 as previously but by .02. Now this we could deal with!
Three men in our town were diagnosed at the same time. Each of them chose a different treatment. Two of them are dead. My dad is now 83 and still doing everything he was doing 9 years ago.!!
There was no modification to his diet.. not that healthy.. and no modification to his few beers and couple of glasses of red wine a day!
He has lived his life exactly the same.
He has his yearly injection, grated lemon (I would approximate just over a table spoon) daily, his red wine and meat and three veg diet.
I am sad to say that Yesterday he was diagnosed with stage 2 lung cancer.
The good news of that being it is not prostrate cancer that has escaped but rather a very treatable lung cancer.
I’m now thinking we may up that lemon rind!!
If you are looking at lemon rind as an aid to help in your battle with cancer then I would say ‘go for it’.
    I hope this helps

      1. Doctor I need your help,I was diagnosed of breast cancer of right breast and also breast feeding what should I do

        1. It is hard to imagine how you must be feeling – what we must tell you first, you must hold on to hope and gain strength from your family. I would strongly recommend that you contact one of our patient counselors for a free consultation (I will forward your email to them) so that they can evaluate your situation and make recommendations. If you would like to schedule a call, click here.

      2. I am a cancer patient using traditional medicine. I am also trying to have a healthier lifestyle. My question is this: can eating lemons daily interfere with the efficacy of chemotherapy? I have read that it’s possible for anti-oxidants to strengthen tumors. Thoughts?

        1. Hi Deborah,
This is a very good question. Whether a food or supplement interferes with a particular chemotherapy agent or not is something you need to discuss with your physician. It is impossible to generalize an answer. What we can tell you is that our bodies were designed to be “food bodies.” Even when out of balance, our body is trying to get back to the normal balance where it can accept wholesome foods. Foods that have been good for us all our lives and preventative of disease are unlikely to turn around and become our enemies. But the key is that everything must be done in moderation and balance. Most diets and food recommendations out there today force people to skew their nutrition in one direction to the detriment of the other. We ask our patients to pay heed to the studies out there, but not drive themselves crazy. Otherwise you will find something evil about every healthful food item you could possibly eat.

    1. Thanks for your information. For I was diagnose last week & found out that I have a problem with my prostate and I am suffering great itchy throat for many days so I start am taking a hot lemon therapy with a few amount of honey bee and Oregana a kind of mynth herb and with aloe vera too. 7. Doctor, I need your help, my wife was diagnosed of locally advanced breast cancer of the right breast. Because of our faith in God she refused to undergo surgery to get the breast removed. She has been using tamoxifen and arthrotec since march 2017, however, the lump keep increasing. I came this article on lemon and cancer.
Sir, kindly advise me on how to go about it and if any other natural remedy to my problem.

    Thank you

    1. Dear Eze,
Thank you for reaching out to us. We applaud you for your faith and hope in your time of need. A successful alternative therapy protocol requires a multi-pronged approach across several treatment principles (See Seven Key Principles of Cancer Therapy). While there is a lot of useful information out there (like this article) that you can incorporate into your wife’s daily nutrition and lifestyle, it cannot substitute for obtaining proper professional care. To that end, I have forwarded your contact information to our patient counselor who will be happy to discuss options with you – please look out for their email. Many prayers for your wife’s speedy recovery!

      1. Have you researched turkey tail mushroom and breast cancer? There is a TED Talk by Paul Stamets about his mother’s recovery from advanced stage 4 breast cancer. Definitely worth checking.

  8. I have been using baking soda and maple syrup. Can I incorporate the lemon as well. Early stage prostate cancer PSA 5.3. I am believing for complete healing. WHAT do you recommend.

    1. Johnnie,
Yes, you certainly can – but don’t take them at the same time since baking soda can react with the citric acid in lemons. As mentioned in the article, lemons can be a powerful, supportive, nutritional addition to a cancer patient’s diet. However, it is not a treatment – therapy of cancer is best handled through a comprehensive, non-toxic treatment protocol. I recommend that you speak with one of our counselors by scheduling a call as soon as possible. They can guide you with possible options. I have also forwarded your email to our counselors who may contact you directly. (SCHEDULE A CALL).

      1. Yes, as long as it is 100% pure baking soda, it should be ok. Keep in mind that if your pack of baking soda has been left open (for example in the refrigerator), it may have absorbed moisture and odors from its near environment. That is why it is best to keep your edible baking soda in an air-tight container.

  9. Greetings doctor! I’ve been under remission 2 yrs ago of breast cancer stage 2b. Had 6 lymph nodes removed and had mastectomy operation. After the recovery, my shoulder started to ache, and later the arms and neck. In fact i have stiff neck at the same time. I was under the care of P. Therapist as recommended by my orthopedic. After 6 months session it was back again. I exercise a lot by stretching my arms but due to the pain it hinders me to do a lot of things that i wanted to do. Is this the effect of the surgery? What’s the alternative treatment for these aches? My surgeon doesn’t even know what to answer me when I ask him…just shrug his shoulder. My ortho recommends a surgery. I’m having again my MRI in a week. Yes, I take lemon or lime juice but I’m too acidic. I believe in herbs and its healing properties but the most of all God’s divine healing power.

    1. Dear Marge,
Sorry to hear about your experience! Pain is one of the primary symptoms reported by our patients that deeply worsens quality of life, so we know exactly what you are talking about. You must view the pain in the context of the entire disease. I would strongly recommend you set up a conversation with one of our patient counselors and discuss your need. Maybe they can help. Go to this link to schedule a call. Praying for your rapid healing!

    2. Crazy as it seems, taking lemons doesn’t make you more acidic, it actually helps to make the body more alkaline

  10. Dear Doctor … I have been told around 8 weeks ago that there is nothing more they can do for me; to go home and get my affairs in order. I have had chemo for six years to treat ovarian cancer originally after the first operation then a full hysterectomy. I am now on an alternative therapy called Protocel and one of the things they say not to induce is vitamin C. Not sure whether no not this would include lemon rind or natural lemons. What are your thoughts. At the moment I am trusting God for a good result.
    Thanking you,
    Diane Nicholls

    1. Dear Diane,
First of all, don’t let another human tell you how much time you have left on this Earth … that time is God-determined, that’s where it begins and ends. Lemons is definitely a good nutritional add, but what I would strongly recommend is that you schedule a call with one of our counselors to discuss your case. There are options available, we’ll be happy to help. Schedule a call by clicking this link here. I have also forwarded your email to our counselor team, so you may hear from them as well. 12. My husband has four tumors bowl, liver.two in a lung he is on chemotherapy tablets but they are growing.
Would the lemons help to kill the tumors? We will try anything

    1. Valerie,
As mentioned in the article, lemons can be a powerful, supportive, nutritional addition to a cancer patient’s diet. However, it is not a treatment which is best handled by through a comprehensive, non-toxic treatment protocol. I recommend that you speak with one of our counselors by scheduling a call as soon as possible. They can guide you with possible options for your husband. 2. I was diagnosed with Renal Cell cancer in 2005, secondary in the bones 2008. I’m doing well as I have lemon juice with bicarbonate soda and cinnamon every morning, 2 green juices every day and a turmeric smoothy everyday. Big servings of greens every night. I only drink lemon and ginger tea with turmeric and black pepper. Since increasing my green juices to two a day I’m full if energy and no longer need my nana naps through out the day. Ginger, garlic and turmeric is a myself in the green juices.

    1. Hi Mini,
The key to treating glioblastoma cases is having effective therapies that cross the blood-brain barrier. At Hope4Cancer, we have several revolutionary non-toxic opportunities that do precisely that. I would strongly recommend that you schedule a call with one of our counselors to discuss your specific situation in more detail, I am sure they will be able to help you. I have also forwarded them your email so that they can contact you directly.

  13. My mom was also diagnosed as lymphoma non hodgkins positive to cd20 how many time is she drink lemon

    1. Hi Armando,
It is difficult to specify an exact amount, but a good rule of thumb would be the European study in the article which used 150 grams a day of citrus four or more times a week. A whole lemon in the United States weighs about 115 grams, but please check your local supply to understand the equivalent amount for 150 grams. Please understand, it is not a hard and fast quantity.

  14. I am Helena ,2014 diagnosed 4 stage Ovarian ,I have 4 surgeries 2 years of chemo ,1 year remission it come back they offered more surgery more chemo until I die.

I wasn’t in fear before but now to get back is overwhelming what else can I do?

    1. Dear Helena,
First of all, don’t let someone’s inability to see you healed (and this includes “expert” doctors) become the reason for draining your hope. We offer excellent non-toxic therapeutic options without the side effects of conventional treatment – I would definitely recommend that you reach out to one of our patient counselors (schedule a call) and evaluate your options. I have sent them your email address, and they might reach out to you as well. (SCHEDULE A CALL)

  15. Hello Doctor, I am from India. My father – 83 yrs old – is diagnosed with Lung Cancer – NSCLC adenocarcinoma stage 4.
Dr. Says nothing can be done bciz of his age and metastasis. What can I do to cure him?

    1. Dear Swapnil,
We obviously don’t agree with his doctors. Most patients at your father’s age don’t do well with conventional therapies because they are too toxic, making it impossible for their already fragile body to handle and process out the toxic burden. I would strongly recommend you consider non-toxic therapeutic options like the ones we offer at Hope4Cancer. 16. Hello Dr.
My husband has stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer. He is currently on chemo and has been for the past 3 years. He is on the 3rd type of chemo and over 5 years has tried every treatment available at the cancer center. He is presently on Jevtana and we’re told that this is it, there are no other options. His PSA is starting to go up again which means that the treatment has run it’s course. He is losing weight and not feeling well. This news is not helping. He is usually very positive but I think the negative info Is taking it’s toll on him. He has a mass on his bladder which should be removed on Monday. He has huge blood clots that’s causing his hemoglobin to drop and he has trouble passing them. Not only has it spread to his bladder but his bones also.
We would like to try alternative treatments but not sure how to go about it.
Can you please help. We feel we are running out of options. My husband is 77 years old.
    Thank you.

  18. Good day Doctor, I was diagnosed with esophageal cancer stage 4 in August 2016. Because of the lesions on my liver, surgery was not an option. I have been receiving chemo regiments since then as palliative care. 13 months. My liver has responded well and my tumor has shrunk as well. My latest CT scan showed some new growth up my esophagus wall of the primary tumor. I was told there will come a time when my current treatments will no longer be effective. Perhaps the time has come? I am looking into new paths for my cancer. My swallowing is limited to soft foods and liquids. Do you have any recommended courses of action? Because I have been on chemo for so long will a lemon regiment help? Thanks, Terry

  19. Good day!
I have a 22 yr.old sister who has a 10 cm. ovarian cyst. She undergo surgery last August 23, 2017. The doctor diagnosed had an ovarian cancer stage 2b. They advise a chemotherapy as part of the treatment but my sister wanted the alternative treatment such as herbal medicine together with the healthy diet.
I saw your page and read about those patients who survived cancer through the help of your institute and your way of treatment. I badly wanted my sister to be treated in your institute it’s just that we cannot afford since your clinic/institute is too far.
You do have any suggestions on what to do? I want my sister to live longer she’s only 22. Hopefully you can enlighten us on what to do.
    Thank you!

  20. What a good article. I am already a fan of citrus foods playing a role in fighting cancer. I have been recently diagnosed with breast cancer am still going through the biopsy process. Meanwhile, I am using high grade essential oils, including the citrus oils, as much as I can. However, I have been reading about the negativity of consuming Vitamin C, as it supposedly makes cancer worse rather than help with it. May I ask for your comments on this? Thank you.

    1. Dear Michele,
As I am sure you know, clinics in Mexico, including Hope4Cancer Treatment Centers, as well as many integrative clinics in the United States, use Vitamin C therapeutically against cancer. However, to have a positive impact from Vitamin C against cancer, usually large doses are needed. If you need more information about natural ways to eliminate cancer, do not hesitate to schedule a call with one of our helpful counselors.

  21. Lumps in underarms some time pain in breasts my periods are irregular do I suspect cancer plz give some suggestions. Will lemon juice work

    1. Dear Latha, You should always view nutrition as a supportive measure. If you are experiencing symptoms of the nature you are describing, it is very important that you consult your doctor without delay. Ruling out serious possibilities or catching them early is always a good idea.

  22. My father has a tumor in his liver and he is taking chemotherapy medicines.. Should we add lemon in his diet.

  23. My dad age 72 has lung cancer . Now it affect up to brain. We treated as chemo and radio therapy , but no progress. Now his half body part under stomach became senseless . Is there any solution ?

  24. Useful Information .
But besides lemon other Citrus fruits are equally effective ?. e.g Lemon in Pickle form ?; How effective it could be & other Citrusfruits like Galgal, big size is consumed by people in hills along with its peel in a routine manner/ Any study on this? Oranges etc.

    1. Lemon pickle is a great addition to a meal because it is full of probiotics. This is true for other pickles too, but please avoid sugar-added pickles. We do believe that the best return on “citrus-investment’ as far as cancer is concerned will come from lemon or lime. That doesn’t mean that other citrus fruits are not healthy, of course. What you really should avoid is fruit juices since they contain too much of sugar and are missing most of the fiber and other goodies in the solids. Also, it is difficult to figure out the source of the fruit in pre-made juices.

  25. Dear Dr
Could you please tell me if Graviola Max
Is a safe cancer treatment and where i can get more information about it.
Also can you use it in conjunction with B 17 or apricot kernals and vitc introvenous therapy and medicinial cannabis treatment
    Thankyou so much

    1. Patricia,
Thank you for reaching out to us, we totally understand your concern. Nutrition is, of course, very important but it is only one piece of the puzzle. Once a cancer diagnosis has been confirmed, we believe it is very important that you seek professional help. At Hope4Cancer we have excellent treatments for eye melanoma. Please feel free to schedule a free consultation with one of our counselors (schedule your call) to learn more about your options. They may also reach out to you by email.

    1. We hope and pray that your fears are unfounded. Cancer or no cancer, working on your immune system is one of the biggest things anyone can do to keep themselves healthy. One of our goals is to educate people about their immune system and it’s intimate relationship to cancer. In fact, we offer treatment protocols for patients who consider themselves high risk for cancer and other chronic diseases and help them stabilize their immune systems. If you are interested in our program, please feel free to schedule a free call with one of our counselors to discuss your options.

  27. My name is Ros. I was diagnosed with stage 3C Ovarian cancer in 2015. I had a confirming laparoscopic diagnosis when dr was able to remove as much of the 5 secondary tumours in my peritoneum or belly. I had 9 sessions of chemotherapy which shrunk my 7 cm tumour to 2cm and then had a total hysterectomy removing ovaries, tubes, uterus and as much as dr could remove of the belly secondaries. Then I had another 9 sessions of chemotherapy. I can’t remember exactly when I started having 2 slices of lemon in water every day and eat the slices of lemon. I have a big tree of beautiful eureka lemons with thick skin which is easier to eat than thin skinned lemon. I was in remission within a month of the last chemotherapy session and have been in remission for 20 months, Praise God. I would recommend lemon in preventing recurrence. I am really careful not to miss any days having my lemon as it is easy to forget, but I think of lemon as a treatment.

    1. Congratulations Ros, way to go! A word of caution to all you readers – please understand that expecting lemons to cure cancer could be a stretch for most patients. The lesson to learn from Rosalind’s testimony is that making smart nutritional choices can and will make a world of difference. Even if we ignore its cancer-fighting phytochemicals, lemons are an example of a fruit that helps you keep your body’s terrain in balance, which is, in our doctors’ opinion, as important as directly going after the cancer cells.

  28. I HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH LESIONS ON MY PANCREUS 12 MONTHS AGO LARGEST BEING 9MM I AM AN 83 YEARS WOMEN IN GOOD HEALTH ONLY TAKE A TABLET FOR THYROID ABOUT 25 YEARS, I HAVE HEARD ABOUT NANOKNIFE AND ALTHOUGH MY DOCTOR HAS NOT SAID I HAVE CANCER I AM FRIGHTENED THAT THIS IS WHAT IT WILL BE. MY DOCTOR SAID HE WOULD NOT ADVICE WHIPPLE OPERATION BECAUSE OF MY AGE . I WILL START THE LEMON DAILY WHICH I HAVE JUST HEARD ABOUT, ANY ADVICE I WOULD APPRECIATE I LIVE IN CANADA.

    1. Hi June,
First advice is: don’t panic. When you think of cancer as a “dysregulation” in the body, the converse could be true – that you can regulate yourself back to health. I would strongly recommend that you read our sections on the Seven Key Principles to understand the various elements that play a role in carcinogenesis. If you are looking to go away from conventional approaches (some of which have been ruled out for you like Whipple) and are looking for alternative methods, then I would also recommend that you setup a free consultation with one of our counselors to review your treatment options. Please click on this link to request your consultation.

  29. Great reading. Great testimonies. I’m informed. I got curious because of an article sent to me re the use of lemon as a cancer treatmet. I wanted to pass it on but needed clarification. Your site did just that. Thanks.

  30. I’m 53, mother and housewife. I’ve been operated on my right thigh for stage 2 tumor three years ago. The lump recurred near the same location and two lumps seen on same leg. The other is said to be a lymph adenopathy. Biopsy and radiotherapy was recommended to shrink the lump. I couldn’t go through the process because of the side effects. Could you best advice on what I should do. Thank you.

  31. Had biopsy of prostrate in 1994. Results were stage 3 cancer forgot
    Gleason .
I have been on very strict vegetarian diet since then. Never had any medical treatment.
Over the years my psa has risen to 15.
My only problem now is that I get up every two hours to empty my bladder.
    I am 77 years old.
    Any suggestions for this condition?

    1. Dear Richard, I asked one of our experienced doctors to comment on your question. Here is his response: “Prostate cancer can have a very indolent course. Maybe you were at a stage 3 at the time, the disease can regress given the right conditions, maybe the diagnosis then was not accurate. Be this as it may, there are many things you can do to improve your prostate health. Making sure your cancer is not reawakening would be one to recommend. Color doppler ultrasound evaluation of the prostate by an experienced practitioner can be helpful and minimally invasive. There are other tests that can help, a conversation with your doctor can give you the necessary information. If ongoing cancer is indeed an issue for you we can certainly help. For prostate health, nutrients such as zinc, vitamin A and certain amino acids are fundamental. Your functional medicine doctor can be of help. There are organizations such as Healing Arts Education Foundation that can be a relatively low cost resource for you in improving your situation.”

We wish you well. If there is anything we can do to help, please do not hesitate to schedule a free consultation with one of our counselors.

  32. I enjoyed this page, it is educative. My question is that is there any other remedy for cancer treatment? Example bread cancer remedy apart from cutting the breast

    1. Hello Ojeaga, I would encourage you to read through our website, in particular our page on the Seven Key Principles of Cancer Therapy. We have many targeted therapies that treat cancer, its stem cells, restore immune function, and rebuild the body to a place where it can defend itself once again from disease. If you would like more information, I would encourage you to request a free consultation with one of our counselors. Click here to request a free consultation.

  33. Hi Doctor
My Wife has been diagnosed with Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer, she has to have 3 cycles of Chemo, if her body responds to Chemo then Surgery & 3 cycles of Chemo again.
I have been strongly advised lemon therapy. She has started taking 1 lemon with baking soda sprinkled over lemon slices. First Chemo is 4 weeks away. Hope it helps to cure Ovarian Cancer.

  34. I have read In a health magazine about lemon that suppose to be a benefit for cancer and it says to boil about 5 lemon that has been slice into wedges in about 4 to 5 quarts of water for abour20 minutes, than I would consume a tall glass each morning, I am under chemo treatment once a wk and my blood test has been good ever since drinking lemon water.

    1. Hi Dorothy,
Lemon is very beneficial to health, and I am glad you have incorporated it in your daily routine. I would, however, recommend that you should not boil the lemons. The enzymes in lemons have many beneficial effects, but like any other proteins, they get denatured at high temperatures (think about how egg whites go from colorless to white on cooking – it not only changes their look, but also their biochemical behavior). Hope that helps!

I would also like you to know that, at Hope4Cancer, many of our patients like to integrate our natural therapies along with their conventional protocols to help minimize the side effects of the therapies, while at the same time providing a non-toxic way to enhance efficacy against the cancer. If there is any way we can help, please do not hesitate to reach out to our patient counselors for a free consultation (click this link to request your consultation).

  35. Wonderful information shared.
How many hours gap is advised between the morning empty stomach lemon juice and breakfast ?
Also please advise how to consume baking soda.

    Thanks in advance.
    “Prevention is better than cure”

    1. Hi Steven,
You should keep a gap of at least 30 minutes to let the lemon do its work. As far as baking soda is concerned, the original Simoncini Protocol recommends 1 teaspoon of baking soda, but we believe that is too much. Our doctors usually recommend a quarter teaspoon in water. To learn more about baking soda and its uses, I would refer you to this really good article that appeared in the Truth About Cancer blog: Baking Soda: Cancer Treatment Uses for Prevention and Testing.

      Hope that helps!

    1. Hi Nathan,
Make sure the water is not too warm or else you will start breaking down the enzymes in the lemon. On another note, congratulations on keeping your cancer at bay for three years! Hope your recovery is going well. If there is anything we can do to help you from a therapeutic perspective, please do not hesitate in reaching out to one of our patient counselors by clicking the following link : schedule a free consultation.

  37. I place 1/2 organic lemon, rind and all and a banana in a blender with about 16 oz of water daily and drink. Also take 1 modified citrus pectin with water between meals. Neither the lemon nor the mcp should be taken with your meal. Diet should be 10-15 servings of raw fruits and vegetables daily, with a minimum of meat and only steamed or lightly baked chicken and fish. Whole foods like oatmeal, nuts, brown rice, beans, and lentils can make up much/most of the protein needed. I drink 500 ml of juice from carrots (1.7 lb), beets (1/2) and apple (1) daily. No processed foods. Eat organic vegetables and fruits and avoid other toxic substances like paint or bleach fumes. I also do not eat dairy or eggs. Vitamin D is a must supplement unless you live in a warm climate and can get 30 min of full sun each day. Exercise daily. Take 5 min breaks every few hours and do a few sets of stairs if nothing else. And pray – you will need God’s comfort and reassurance as you battle cancer. Cancer is a multi-front war. Don’t expect one “magic bullet” to cure you. Even chemo or surgery has no guarantee that the cancer won’t come back.

  38. I have cancer of the bile ducts in to the liver. Seeing a surgeon next week . Stage one or two . With lemons be a good option for me?

    1. One of our pancreatic / bile duct cancer patients who is in remission since 2013 takes lemons as part of her holistic nutrition plan. It is very important that you do not ignore the complete diet – it doesn’t do any good by adding healthy line items if you are also consuming foods that could be potentially harmful to you such as sugars, processed foods/meats etc. But, yes, there should be no harm in adding lemons to your diet. That being said, we advise you to first consult with your surgeon in case there are any specific reasons why he/she may not want you to consume citrus fruits.

  39. hi doc, i am a 73 year old man with lung cancer that they say is non operable i have been on opdivo for 2 years and have been in remission for 14 months my doc has told me i have a large tumor that just stays the same i have a pet scan every 3 months to keep it in check i know that some day i will out live the treatment i am getting, my question is do you think if i start on a lemon diet will that help, opdivo works on the immune system so i am not sure if lemon would work against the opdivo thanks for any info you can give me

    1. Unfortunately, we cannot give that kind of advice online, and even if we could, I don’t believe any studies exist regarding the interactions of lemon with Opdivo. I would, however, recommend that you reach out to one of our patient counselors (request a free consultation on our website) who can give you some options of effective, non-toxic therapies that can help you improve your odds against recurrence of your currently static disease state. All the best!

    1. Dear Richard,
Unfortunately, we cannot make medical recommendations on the website. If you would like more information about Hope4Cancer treatments, I would recommend you request a free consultation and speak to one of our patient counselors who will be glad to answer your questions.

I juice beets and carrots every other day and make him the cottage cheese and flaxseed oil every other day also as well as smoothies. 43. When I have made carrot juice, which I usually do, I blend a cutup-up whole organic lemon or lemon-and-a-half in a cup of carrot juice. If no carrot juice is available. I use a cup-or-so of water. I do this twice daily. I stumbled upon this before doing a search and finding this article. I can notice a difference in my prostate within a day. What is said in this article about this not being your only prong of attack is essential. The carrot juice is also a main weapon of mine in addition to many other things.

The name Jimenez sounded familiar. I looked it up, and sure enough it was Tony Jimenez, whom I had seen on Truth for Cancer.

  49. Hello Dr. Chakravarty,
I stumbled upon your site while doing general research on health matters and different suggestions to boost the immune system. I have gained much knowledge from the information you provide. While I have no life threatening health issues, I wanted to email my gratefulness for the advice, though cautious, that you have given to the individuals seeking alternative sources to chemo treatment. I also raise my glass to you for encouraging readers to keep faith in God, knowing that no mortal man can determine how much time we humans have on earth. You don’t need to publish this for it is only my desire to let you know that you are respected, admired and looked up to. Please add me to your mailing list in the event there is a newsletter. I live in Northern California where fortunately there is a large support community of holistic practitioners and herbal supplement advocates. I have access to a regular pharmacy that also has a section for alternative healing programs. Keep up the wonderful, caring work and my God who sits most high continue to bless you, provide long life and give you the knowledge and strength to carry on such great work.
    In the highest regard!
