The Mesothelium is the a single lining of flattening cells that form a sac-like membrane. This membrane protects and lines several body cavities; i.e.: the chest and the abdomen.

What is Malignant Mesothelioma?

Mesothelioma is a rare form of cancer originating in the sac lining of the chest (the pleura) or the abdomen (the peritoneum).

A major risk factor of this disease is occupational exposure to asbestos.
